Aviapin Boeing 757-200 P4-GAS Pin Badge
This highly collectable pin badge was made from the tail of a real airliner - ex-Air Astana Boeing 757-200 P4-GAS. The pin badge is made up of an 18mm disc of authentic aircraft skin mounted on a pin and spring-locking pin back for extra secure hold. The pin comes on a card which includes an illustration of the aircraft and information about the particular airframe.
P4-GAS flew with Kazakhstan's Air Astana between 2004 and 2020, when it made its final flight to St Athan in South Wales, UK, for dismantling. This wasn't the only registration it wore, however; it was delivered to LTU as D-AMUI in 1996, and briefly wore the code EI-GTW for its journey to the scrappers' yard.
Pins are available with a choice of 2 engravings - 757, or the code AS for the end of the aircraft's registration code, and referring to Astana, the aircraft's Kazak home base. Although this is not a numbered edition, it is very limited, with only a handful of each colour being produced. Just 2 bicolour pins have been made; only one remains at the time of writing this. A genuinely unique aviation collectable.
As the material used for the pin has been sourced from genuine aircraft metal featuring the original paint, pins may differ very slightly from those shown and may show marks or blemishes from the aircraft's long service life.
